A’LU is one of the most ambitious restaurant buildouts Boynton has seen in years. Huge, beautifully designed space with dramatic lighting, a strong bar presence, and enough room to host serious events without feeling cramped. This is not Tex-Mex. The menu leans San Diego/Baja with regional depth — smoked short rib mole, goat birria, Siete Mares seafood caldo, steak chimichurri, and a creative corn “lasagna.” The overall polish reminded me of the specialty restaurants at upper-end Riviera Maya resorts — composed, elevated, and intentional. Standouts: •Empanadas with a delicious smoky braised meat filling (would prefer sauce on the side). •Smoked short rib mole — tender and well layered. Ask for rice or tortillas; they’re happy to bring them. •Goat birria taco — flavorful and not gamy. Go light on the consomé. •Siete Mares — tomato-based seafood soup that reminded me of cioppino. •Corn lasagna — creative vegetarian option. •Strong mezcal and margarita program. Pricing reflects the ambition: Apps $12–$18 Tacos $6–$9 each Entrées mid-$20s to low-$30s Cocktails $15–$17 I’m usually critical of expensive tacos and elotes in Boca/Delray, but most of those spots aren’t trying to be this regionally focused or ambitious. Here, the pricing aligns with execution. Bottom line: A’LU is operating at a higher tier than much of the immediate area. It needs more traffic. If you’re in Delray or Boca and say there’s nothing different nearby, this is worth the short drive.

Happened upon this restaurant after looking for places near our hotel. Amazing find. Upscale Mexican is the best way to describe it. Menu isn’t large but it’s well rounded and everything we had was wonderful. Loved the rice and beans!! Happy hour margaritas are good too. Staff was super friendly and helpful and this would be a wonderful romantic place on a warm note outside by the lake, but the bar was perfect too!

From the moment you walk into A’Lu, you can tell this place is something truly special. Every detail of the restaurant, from the stunning build-out and thoughtfully curated décor to the warm, inviting atmosphere, creates an unforgettable dining experience. The handcrafted drinks are nothing short of exceptional, perfectly balanced, and clearly made with care and creativity. The food is delicious. A’lu doesn’t just serve a meal, it delivers an experience. Great food, incredible drinks, and a gorgeous space come together seamlessly. Everything about this restaurant is exceptional, and it’s a place you’ll want to return to again and again.

From the moment you arrive, the convenience is apparent; unlike many local spots, there is ample parking, making the start of your evening stress-free. ​The atmosphere is fantastic, featuring a large, well-stocked bar perfect for grabbing a margarita before heading to the outdoor seating area. The patio offers a lovely view that elevates the entire meal, providing a breezy, scenic backdrop that’s hard to beat in the area. ​The Highlights ​The Food: While the entire menu is impressive, the queso chorizo dip is an absolute game-changer. First time at A’Lu — really glad we finally gave it a shot. We’d driven by a bunch and were hesitant due to the low-key location and lack of branding, but once inside, it’s a total hidden gem. What we ordered: Appetizer • Short rib empanadas to start — 🔥 absolutely delicious. Familiar flavor with a unique twist. Meals • My wife had the grilled chicken salad — fresh, hearty, and well balanced. I got two tacos: • Al Pastor (sweet/spicy and packed with flavor) • House taco with skirt steak & grilled jalapeño (really hit the spot) The taco filling came in warm bowls with tortillas on the side — perfect for customizing or sharing. Way more fun (and flavorful) than your average taco setup. A few notes: • Slightly higher price point, but the flavor and presentation made it worth it. • Can’t wait to come back for happy hour — the deck seating will be great once the weather cools down. • Feels like one of those under-the-radar spots locals already know about. Highly recommend. Great food, great vibe — exceeded expectations.
