I had a maintenance agreement with another company (which I’ll be canceling) that serviced my system twice a year. During their most recent visit, they told me I had a refrigerant leak in an area they couldn’t repair and quoted me $17,000 to replace the entire unit. Starnes was recommended to me by a friend, so I had Dustin come out for a second opinion—even though they’re about an hour outside my area. I’m very glad I did. Dustin immediately identified that the issue was absolutely repairable, completed the repair on the spot, and also cleaned a very dirty condenser coil that the other company had supposedly serviced just two weeks earlier. He also provided a replacement quote that was several thousand dollars less than the other company, but importantly, he recommended against replacing the unit since it wasn’t necessary. That level of honesty is apparently rare these days. Pricing was very fair, and the service was outstanding. When the time eventually comes to replace my system (hopefully years from now, thanks to Dustin), Starnes will be my first call. Honest, straightforward, and trustworthy—highly recommend.
We cannot recommend Starnes Heating & Air enough. They serviced our old unit for years until it finally had to be replaced. When our AC finally "died" Starnes came out the same day, accessed the situation and had a new HVAC system installed that same week. They are very honest and will not price gouge you. My only complaint is the next day after installation I thought I was going to freeze to death the unit worked so good. In fact I told the office manager that my toes felt like they were frostbitten they were so cold. Of course I was teasing and that certainly wasn't a complaint, just a little humor. Give Starnes a call if you are looking for outstanding and honest service. One more thing, be sure to ask for the smart thermostat. It is will well worth the cost and you will not be disappointed.
I contacted Starnes Heating & Air after my finished basement HVAC went out stopped working. Dustin McCann with Starnes Heating & Air quickly diagnosed the problem and explained my options. As it was an old system and the price was very fair, I decided to replace it. Dustin was very professional and did an excellent job of installing and explaining the workings of the new system. Quick as well. Cool air is blasting once again. I am very satisfied with this experience and will definitely use Starnes Heating & Air when needed in the future.
