Beyond Preemie is absolutely the best choice for feeding therapy. Heather is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, genuine, and supportive. She provides thoughtful guidance and practical suggestions, and each session has helped our baby boy make so much progress. She truly walks alongside families throughout the entire feeding journey. Since our baby spent a long time in the NICU, having someone with Heather’s experience and expertise has made such a difference in helping him come so far. We honestly would feel lost without her support. I highly recommend her services to anyone in need of occupational or feeding therapy.
Heather came to us in a time we were at our lowest. Our little preemie was discharged home with a feeding tube and after calling 6 places, nobody even wanted to accept her as a client until we called Heather. She immediately began asking background questions, set up a consult, and showed us she CARED. While the journey was not easy, we never for one moment felt unsupported by Heather. Our daughter made huge strides every month in her feeding journey thanks to Heather’s approach. She made sure feeding was positive, taught us to listen to our baby’s cues, and was pivotal in our transition to solids. She acted as our baby’s OT as well and guided us through exercises we could do at home to continue with her physical development. I could call or message Heather at any time and know I’d get a response back. Fast forward a year later and our daughter is fully tube weaned and walking. Heather - you are an absolute angel on earth!
Heather is an absolutely incredible pediatric OT who truly saved my breastfeeding journey. She came highly recommended by our lactation consultant after a tongue-tie release and months of trying *everything* to get my daughter to exclusively breastfeed—with little success. From our first visit, Heather was professional yet so warm and reassuring. She made our sessions feel easy— and even fun —for both my daughter and I. Unlike many prior recommendations that focused on stressful intraoral stretches, Heather showed us playful, gentle ways to strengthen my daughter’s suck and release body tension through movement and play. She is incredibly thoughtful about making children feel safe and comfortable—even down to wearing pink gloves because babies can associate blue gloves with past medical trauma. Heather completed a thorough history and full-body assessment, then taught me practical tips and play strategies to support motor milestones. She recommended specific bottles and clearly explained how each choice would help strengthen oral muscles. Even as a postpartum/pediatric RN and mom of five, I learned so much and deeply appreciated the time she took to explain the “why” behind everything. I was truly amazed that within just a few weeks, we went from a baby who refused the breast and had very poor oral strength to one who exclusively breastfeeds. I cannot recommend Heather enough. Thank you, Heather, for the incredible work you do and for changing our journey so completely.
Our pediatrician recommended Heather, and we are so thankful they did. Our son was struggling with bottle feeding — frequent clicking and sucking noises, tiring quickly, and feedings that could take 45 minutes to an hour. Like many parents, we were hearing a lot about tongue-tie surgery, but we wanted to be sure it was truly necessary before going that route. From the very first visit, Heather was incredibly knowledgeable and thoughtful. She carefully evaluated our son and helped us determine whether surgery was needed or if we could instead focus on improving his oral strength and motor skills. What truly set her apart was her patience and calming presence — both with our son and with me as a worried parent. She took the time to explain everything clearly, answer all of our questions, and create a plan that felt reassuring and effective. We saw real improvement and felt supported every step of the way. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
We did not have an actual appointment with her but she did a phone consultation with us. We were too far away to come in person to see her, but she helped us find resources near where we live and it's forever changed our baby's life and we are so beyond thankful for her advice, listening ear, things to try, and connecting us to resources near us. She was super empathetic over the phone and supportive and just based off of our conversation I can tell she is so knowledgeable and passionate about what she does and would highly recommend her!
