An unforgettable evening at Mudbar Restaurant & Bar, Launceston Had an absolutely brilliant evening here with friends. From the moment we walked in, everything about the place felt right. The location by the water is stunning and the atmosphere has that perfect balance of relaxed and lively. The seating was comfortable and well arranged, making it a great spot to sit back and enjoy a long evening. The food was simply outstanding. The oysters were unbelievably fresh, probably some of the best I’ve had. We kept going back for more along with the wine, which says a lot about the quality. The steak was another highlight, cooked beautifully and full of flavour. A special mention to the lovely lady who served us. She was incredibly helpful, guided us through the menu, and recommended excellent wine and food combinations. Her service genuinely elevated the whole experience. Parking was easy and convenient, which is always a bonus when you’re out for a relaxed evening. With great food, great wine, wonderful service, and a fantastic atmosphere, this turned out to be a complete 360-degree dining experience. Definitely a place I’d happily return to whenever I’m back in Launceston. Highly recommended.
The friendliest, most welcoming staff. A beautiful restaurant right next to the marina and boardwalk in the centre of Launceston. Fresh seafood and meat from their farm. They also served rabbit and the delicious harpuka fish (ill have next time!). A very relaxing place, lots of delicious foods to try. I enjoyed the oysters, pork and cauliflower. Entree size was filling. 6 dessert options pluses cheeses. Spacious and roomy. Not loud, just right. The staff are very passionate about their food, you as their quests and providing a wonderful experience. Thank you 😊 P.s. I've also reviewed via my husbands profile (by accident).
"Faultless from start to finish! 🔥 The food, the service, the atmosphere - everything was 10/10. We vistited the Mudbar November 2025 and my husband is still raving about the meal he had. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a world-class meal in Launceston. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐" We can't wait to come back!
Went here after my husband and I got married today. The food was incredible. Packed with flavour and with such a beautiful presentation. The waiter was very kind and due to our post-wedding celebration, he offered the drinks. We had an amazing time. Recommend sitting on their patio facing seaport.
Friendly and attentive staff make a point of telling me how many minutes (not many) each ingredient has travelled from where it was harvested, making it all feel a very local affair. So, when food arrives in a bold mix of Asian and European flavours, I experience cognitive dissonance. I guess, it’s the beauty of good contemporary Australian cooking - making local ingredients sing in many voices, both familiar and surprising. After being offered to sample the wines I was curious about, I can’t resist the temptation to start with a glass of beautiful Delamere Blanc de blancs 2018. The crab tartlet is a lovely starter, white fish with gnocchi and red curry sauce is an intense and delicious main. The honeycomb cigar is actually two, tasting mainly like very fluffy Nutella. Under other circumstances it may have been a bit too sweet for me, but after the spicy asian flavours it feels very soothing and pleasing on the palate. All in all, a very satisfying meal.
