We happened across this group at PetSmart today. They had a beautiful TNR orange boy who was literally paralyzed with fear. We mentioned it to one of the ladies in charge hoping that would help get the situation addressed for him. We were surprised to hear her dismiss our concerns and tell us that he'd been that way for 2 hours! Imagine being left for 2 hours absolutely terrified with no ability to change things for yourself and those who are purportedly your "caregivers" not actually caring enough to try in the least to make things better for you. It's neglect at its finest. They should be ashamed and I can only hope when karma comes back and they find themselves in a similar situation they'll remember how they neglected the sweet ginger boy who simply wanted to feel safe. The female fostering said she had to have him out there to get him adopted. I disagree. There are any number of ways to get him adopted. All that showed me is that the group obviously doesn't care for the animals in their charge which means we definitely don't need to support this group's neglect of obvious needs.
We adopted our Jack Jack through The Barker Rescue Project. Kat, who runs the rescue, had personally fostered him in her home when he was scared at the Pet Smart adoption. He is anything but scared now and is my best buddy, even bosses the dogs around so he is anything but timid now. He has been a wonderful addition to our family and we love him dearly! Adoption fee was small and he came with all of his vaccinations, vet records, and was neutered. I recommend their adoption group 100%!
