My family and I had high hopes for this funeral home as they previously handled my grandfather’s burial. We expected my grandmother to be laid to rest with the same level of care. The first issue arose when we were asked to move our service time. They had double-booked the day, and we accommodated by starting an hour earlier. While I acknowledge that our service began slightly behind schedule, it still felt extremely rushed. Several previously requested details (such as specific music and transportation from the funeral home to the gravesite) were not honored. There were also issues with the documentation process. We were sent insurance forms as a non-editable PDF that required signatures from five siblings living in different states. It was left to our family to convert the document into an electronic format and coordinate signatures. Now, two months after the funeral, we are being told the correct documentation has still not been submitted to the insurance company. My mother has been given the runaround between the funeral home and the insurer, only to now be told the document was not signed properly, despite it having been signed and resubmitted multiple times. This has been a deeply frustrating experience. It was the funeral home’s responsibility to facilitate and manage these signatures, not place that burden on a grieving family. Providing a non-editable PDF and expecting us to navigate the process ourselves was inappropriate and added unnecessary stress during an already painful time. This level of service is unacceptable. While nothing can undo the experience surrounding my grandmother’s funeral, I hope this serves as feedback for improving your practices. In 2026, efficient and accessible electronic documentation should be standard. Most importantly, the human experience, especially for grieving families, should always remain the priority.

Death sucks. But it's a part of life. After experiencing hurricane Helene, 21 days they kept my loved one. At times I became worried because of unpreventable circumstances due to the hurricane such as long and ongoing power outages that lasted for at least 7 days. Everyone knows the cooler plays a vital part along with embalming in slowing the deterioration of remains. I WAS TOLD BY STAFF WHICH I WILL NOT NAME with a witness to prove (THEY HAD NOT HAD A GENERATOR during that power outage and that's when my anxiety kicked in because again without any means of electricity- those coolers aren't functioning. Many contradict what the staff member had to say, saying they had a way to get electricity to the cooler, but not other areas.) All in all- this was my grandmother we talking about and she was still both beautiful and recognizable. WATKINS&GARRETT IS EXPENSIVE. They prices are astronomical. Gouged. With that being said, customers want to get what they pay for. Some funerals will cost 8k whereas others will cost 17k. And perhaps more. Especially when you start to add all the miscellaneous fees for additional services that are offered. It costs to die. Either way- GET SOME GENERATORS. Too popular and highfalutin to not have it all figured out. My rating is simple. From 1 being the worst to 3 being the best. Professionalism- 2 (shout out to Tyrone, he understands mourning is vital) Cleanliness-3 Pricing- 2 Organization- 1 (Berry a sweet man but be losing jewelry AND HOW DO YOU MISSPELL NAMES IN THE PROGRAMS. ESPECIALLY IF IT'S THE SAME NAME BEING REPEATED. JUST COPY AND PASTE. There's keyboard shortcuts I tell you ctrl+c/p. Reviewed the program countless times and still couldn't get it right. You charge too much to be disorganized. Being both popular and prestigious comes with expectations.) Recommend or not recommend Note: "Recommend" -Alma Sullivan grand baby.

Doug Garrett, one of the directors, helped me and my family at a time when we were in total shock from the death of my Mother. While my Mother lived with me in Greenville her cremation services were all arranged in Michigan. Doug and his staff were easily accessible by the funeral home in Michigan and so kind and considerate. I asked Doug if he could quickly arrange a small showing for some family members who were out of town when my Mom passed away. Doug did not hesitate and made it happen. He personally assisted me and my family members. Doug and the staff of Watkins, Garrett and Woods are so kind and attentive. I can't recommend this place enough.

The Brown family extends our most heart-felt gratitude shown to our family during the death of our brother. The care shown to our family was exceptional. We thank you for transporting our loved one back to our home state of Alabama. We will be forever grateful to this wonderful staff of professionals.
